How much freedom should youth have?

Reflect on how a lot of young people crave more freedom. Is there a limit to how much freedom a young person should have? Do youth need boundaries to grow up to be happy, healthy adults? Why or why not?

If you're stuck for ideas, here are some writing prompts:
- should parents give their kids allowance? (if so, how much?)
- should parents give their kids curfews? (if so, when?)
- should parents have a say in who their kids are friends with?
- should the legal age for driving, drinking, or voting be lowered? Why?

  1. I don't believe that there should be a limit to one's freedom. Especially for a teenager, if you don't give a teen any freedom you may hinder them from growing up as in independent adult, because they will always have something or someone to fall on. And giving a teen too much freedom they may grow up to be an irresponsible adult because they weren't giving enough responislblity in their youth. Basically you should have enough trust in yourself and your teenager to make the right decisions and to learn from their mistakes, giving them a inch does not always mean that they will take a mile with out filling up the tank with gas.. lol

  3. I believe that kids should have freedom to do what they please with proper rules in place. One of these rules include listing to your parents when they tell you to do something. Perhaps good kids may have a lot of freedom, while bad kids have limited freedom. I think that kids should earn the amount of freedom and not expect to just have the freedom to do what ever they want.Kids should have limited freedom no matter who you are by allowances, and curfews.

  4. I believe kids at that certain age SHOULD have freedom. Some say what if the kids get into trouble with the wrong people. Parents SHOULD still have the responsibility for their child... Get to know the kids your child hangs out with. Sometimes the bad influences dont change the individual child. But as a summary, let your child go out! Give them a propper curfew, its better that than not going out at all.
